OUR MISSION

Greenhills School is a student-centered community that helps young people realize their full intellectual, ethical, artistic, and athletic potential in preparation for college — and beyond — as curious, creative, and responsible citizens who respect all individuals and their differences, and whose meaningful and balanced lives will better the world.

OUR DIVERSITY STATEMENT

The promotion of diversity is essential to the ethos and practices of Greenhills School. We believe that people from all races, cultures, socio-economic backgrounds, genders, abilities, religions, and sexualities are sources of strength that enrich teaching and learning. We strive to build a diverse learning community by actively valuing individual experiences, ideas, and talents.

EVERYONE PARTICIPATES IN THE LIFE OF THE SCHOOL.

Greenhills prides itself on being a place where students are "triple threats": where, during their Greenhills careers, students will likely take a challenging course load, play a competitive sport or perform on stage, and provide meaningful service in support of the community. Our students explore opportunities they might not otherwise try and are supported in their efforts to succeed.

OUR ROOTS.

Greenhills was created in the late 1960s by a small group of Ann Arbor parents who saw a need for an independent, non-denominational, academically rigorous college preparatory day school in the community. Greenhills faculty remain 100% committed to developing personal relationships with students to make sure they are equipped with the knowledge and tools necessary to make a positive difference, no matter what their path in life.

DEDICATED FACULTY = ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

Greenhills features an average class size of 16, and this scale provides Greenhills faculty with opportunities to know and foster valuable relationships with all students. Faculty mentor, advise and coach students throughout their careers.

WE CHALLENGE.

Greenhills offers a challenging college preparatory program. We achieve depth and variety in a comprehensive academic strategy. Our proof? 100% of Greenhills students are accepted at four-year institutions.

WE CARE.

Students are assigned an advisor who supports them throughout the school year. Advisors meet regularly with a small group of students to discuss academic and extracurricular concerns. Additionally, advisors meet often as a group to make sure all Greenhills students receive the individualized attention they need.

DEDICATED, PERSONALIZED COLLEGE COUNSELING.

Greenhills college counseling is a four-year program that integrates students and their families in the freshman year. The college counselors are always available to answer questions, offer advice, listen, review materials, and to be a student’s advocate throughout the process.
