Admission Testing

Testing Details

There is no standardized test requirement at Greenhills for admission to 6th–8th grades. All candidates for 9th–12th grades are required to submit scores from the Secondary School Admission Test, or SSAT.  Please go to SSAT online to register for the test.

If it is too late to schedule the SSAT, we will accept any of the following tests:

International Applicants

In addition to the above, international applicants who have not attended English-language schools for at least the last three years are required to submit TOEFL or TOEFL Junior scores. Test dates and locations can be found on the TOEFL website.

The minimum TOEFL standard score is 100, while the minimum TOEFL Junior standard score is 750. Greenhills School does not offer English as a Second Language services or home stay assistance.

The Character Skills Snapshot

Greenhills School is more than just a place where your child will learn English or math – it is a place where education also instills strong character values and encourages personal growth. Similarly, we know that your child is much more than grades and test scores. That’s why we’re asking your child to take the Character Skills Snapshot (CSS) as part of their application. It will give us richer holistic information about your child, and show us areas where our community can help them grow, thrive, and shine.
All applicants to Greenhills School are required to take the Character Skills Snapshot, an online assessment.  Upper School students who register for a required SSAT will have access to the CSS at no additional cost. For Middle School students, we only require the CSS and there is a $25 fee.
