Meet the Admission Team

Betsy Ellsworth

"I feel lucky coming to work every day; Greenhills is a truly amazing community of vibrant people who genuinely love learning."

Betsy came to Greenhills seven years ago from Reed College in Portland, Ore., where she worked in the admission office for 10 years.  A graduate of Princeton Day School, Betsy holds an A.B. in history from Mount Holyoke College and an M.A. in history from Duke University. A daughter of two teachers, Betsy grew up on the campus of The Lawrenceville School (near Princeton, N.J.). Her perspective and knowledge of the independent school world comes from first-hand experience teaching and coaching at Detroit Country Day School, The Madeira School (McLean, Va.) and The McDonogh School (near Baltimore). In addition to her leadership role in the Greenhills admission office, Betsy is an academic advisor for the senior class, has taught upper school history and assisted with the college counseling program. Betsy has served on ISACS accreditation teams and admission panels at national conferences; and currently serves on the board of AISAP (Association of Independent School Admission Professionals) and is the chair of the AIMS (Association of Independent Michigan Schools) admission group.  Betsy is married and has 10 year old twin sons.

“Besides being a parent, there is no better job than teaching.”

Nadine Hall wears many hats at Greenhills: admission team member, middle school social studies teacher and diversity director. As an admission team member, she supports the school’s goals as related to the recruitment of and support for students of diverse backgrounds.
