Adrian Wade Wright Memorial Fund
The Adrian Wade Wright Memorial Fund was established in 1998 as a permanent endowment in memory of Adrian, an African American student, then in 8th grade. Adrian, who would have been a member of the Class of 2003, truly represented the essence of the Greenhills mission through his pursuit of excellence in and out of the classroom.
Income from this endowment underwrites a portion of the cost of Greenhills students attending the NAIS Student Diversity Leadership Conference, held each year in connection with the annual NAIS People of Color Conference. This annual conference, which helps independent schools fulfill their mission of becoming diverse, inclusive organizations, is a tremendous opportunity for Greenhills students. During the past four years, this has included trips to Dallas, Honolulu, Chicago and Miami.
Valentina Stackl, a participant from the Class of 2004 stated:

"The conference allowed me to really examine some of my long standing beliefs about race and ethnicity. I learned to take risks, to extend beyond my comfort zone, and to grow as a person."
Each year, those students who participate in the conference bring ideas back to incorporate into the life of the Greenhills student body. They've planned after-school activities, assemblies, and in-class activities. They've presented panel discussions and films, all in an effort to further the messages of equity and justice.
