Financial Aid Endowment
The need for financial aid at Greenhills School is real. Over the past five years Greenhills has seen a dramatic, 52% increase in the amount of qualified financial aid applications. Today, 20% of Greenhills students currently receive some form of aid.
Sometimes the school has to turn away families whose students qualified for admission, but who couldn't afford the tuition. This strips the school of the many middle-class families who make up most of the Ann Arbor market, and who are ultimately the very group the school was originally founded to serve. Greenhills, though, funds the financial aid program through its operating funds. Given the current economic climate, this is merely a year-to-year fix. It is not stable or sustainable.
Imagine the school musical with 20% fewer actors. How would the chorus sound with so many fewer voices? Imagine the Forensics Teams, the Orchestra, the Science Olympiad or the many sports teams, with 20% fewer members.
