Greenhills Middle School

Students in Grade 6, 7, and 8 take a course each year in English, History and Social Science, Mathematics, Science, Modern and Classical Languages, Wellness and Health, and two in Fine and Performing Arts. In addition, students are taught core Information and Technology skills and can take part in Co-curricular activities and clubs.

Graduation Requirements from Greenhills Upper School

Minimum General Requirements
  1. A student must earn a minimum of 20 graduating credits in grades 9–12.
  2. All students in grades 9–12 are required to take a minimum of 5 courses which receive academic credit each semester.
Minimum Departmental Requirements
  • English
    4 Credits: English I, II, III required. Students must select a course both semesters during senior year.
  • History and Social Science
    3 Credits: one credit in World History (either Foundations of Civilization, Modern World or Modern European AP), one credit in American History, and one credit from electives.
  • Mathematics
    3 Credits: through at least Algebra II.
  • Science
    2 Credits: one in life science and one in physical science.
  • Modern and Classical Languages
    2 Credits: 2 consecutive years studied at Greenhills School, though 3 years of study is strongly recommended. When possible, we recommend the entire sequence of study.
  • Fine and Performing Arts
    1 Credit
  • Wellness and Health
    1 Credit
In addition to the above requirements, upper school students have the opportunity to take Information and Technology electives, be involved in Co-curricular activities, as well as in clubs and sports.
