Greenhills Wilderness Expedition

This two-week course begins with a four-day course on backcountry wilderness skills, expedition and group dynamics, and the study of the flora, fauna and geology specific to the Porcupine Mountains of the Upper Peninsula. Students and instructors then head north for a week-long expedition in the "Porkies," one of Michigan's most spectacular wilderness areas. No previous backpacking experience is necessary, though students should be in good physical condition, having had a pair of pre-approved hiking boots on their feet for at least four weeks prior to the program. A personal gear list will be provided upon registration and each item must meet the approval of the instructors. A thorough packet of information and details will be provided upon interest and registration.
