Women and children in various water scarce areas of the world walk an average of four miles each day and carry about six liters of water to get fresh water for their family. On this day, the seventh grade will walk several miles and carry three, two-liter soda bottles filled with water to raise local awareness of this issue. They will then work with the Huron River Watershed Council at Parker Mill County Park to conduct various water quality measures as well as work with folks from the Washtenaw County Parks & Recreation Commission. At Greenhills, students will also engage with expert speakers related to water issues.
