Greenhills School has an immediate opening for a highly-qualified, collaborative and dynamic Theater teacher who can provide short or long term substitute coverage of middle and/or upper level Theater classes. The ideal candidate will have the ability to teach courses through all levels in acting, technical theater, and direct a spring upper school performance.
Greenhills School, an independent school of 550 students in grades 6-12, has an immediate opening for a highly-qualified, collaborative and dynamic Theater teacher who can provide short or long term substitute coverage of middle and/or upper level Theater classes. The ideal candidate will have the ability to teach courses through all levels in acting, technical theater, and direct a spring upper school performance. Specific responsibilities may include teaching up to four sections of theater (and may involve two or three distinct course preparations) and directing one production. Undergraduate degree required. Proven experience with the age group required, teaching experience at the secondary level preferred. Other contractual responsibilities for this position may include: supervising students in a small group advisory and/or extracurricular activities, chaperoning school events, and general involvement in the life of the school.
Our current instructional model involves both remote instruction and in-person instruction, and hybrid instruction (students in one class at home and at school). The Substitute Theater Instructor must be able to be in the building/on campus whenever we provide in-person instruction. This position may be modified in the second semester based on school need and our degree of in-person vs remote instruction time.
