2 juniors earn Optimist Club honors

In recognition of their academic achievement, leadership, and community service, Greenhills juniors Siani Woods and Gabe Linderman earned Outstanding Youth Achievement Awards last week from the Breakfast Optimist Club of Ann Arbor. 

optimistWoods, vice president of Greenhills’ International Thespian Society, also participates in the African American Focus Group and SOAR, Students Organized Against Racism. Her hobbies include theater, baking and cooking, and empowering preteens. She also volunteers with Meals on Wheels and works at Ann Arbor’s Hands-On Museum.

Linderman, a photographer who works with the Greenhills yearbook club, took first place in last year’s juried exhibit at Greenhills. His interests include political philosophy, American history, and government, and he’s worked as a peer educator at Planned Parenthood.

The Harold Eastman Outstanding Youth Achievement Awards were presented to Woods and Linderman on January 28.
