OUR DIVERSITY STATEMENT

The promotion of diversity is essential to the ethos and practices of Greenhills School. We believe that people from all races, cultures, socio-economic backgrounds, genders, abilities, religions, and sexualities are sources of strength that enrich teaching and learning. We strive to build a diverse learning community by actively valuing individual experiences, ideas, and talents.

Our families come from Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Dearborn, Northville, and other surrounding areas.

We are also home to students with diverse gender identities, socio-economic backgrounds, abilities, religions, and sexualities.

The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion designs innovative, student-centered programming in order to promote acceptance and awareness of all forms of diversity within our community and our world.

In addition to joining clubs such as Gender & Sexuality Alliance and affinity groups like Black Student Affinity Alliance, students participate in activities that address topics ranging from socio-economic status, to cultural identity, to feminism, to current events.

Exploring the significance of social justice in our lives functions as an integral companion to the high quality, content-based academic education that we offer at Greenhills. The work done by the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is central to fulfilling our mission to create “curious, creative, and responsible citizens who respect all individuals and their differences.”
