The admission process, with how to apply, the application, and other resources

In This Section

Relationships are at the heart of everything.

At Greenhills, we believe in the power of connection—between students and teachers, between families and school, between who your child is now and who they’re becoming. That’s why we make time to get to know your child and understand what makes them who they are. And we want you to get to know Greenhills, too. Our application process is meant to help us learn about each other, with multiple opportunities to connect, share, and ask questions.

THE ADMISSION PROCESS

1. Inquire (optional)
Fill out our inquiry form to connect with our admission team, ask questions, and receive updates.

2. Apply
Complete your application and submit the required materials. We use a flexible, student-centered process to get to know your child.

3. Visit and Connect
We care about more than just your child’s academic ability. Interviews and shadow days help us learn about your child’s character and interests, while giving them a feel for Greenhills.

4. Decision
Admissions decisions are shared in early March, after families have been notified about variable tuition decisions in February. Any applications received after decisions have been made will be considered on a rolling basis, as space allows.

Details About the Application

The following items must be completed for an application to be finalized.

Family Information Form
This form allows you to share some general information about your family and the child(ren) applying to Greenhills.
Required to schedule a visit day.
Student Interest and Activity Form
This helps us learn what your child is excited to explore at Greenhills, whether it’s robotics, music, sports, or something else.
Required to schedule a visit day.
Visit Day
Your child will be invited to join us on campus to get a taste of what it’s like to be a student here. They’ll be paired up with a current student—usually someone who has some shared interests—so they can start the day out with a friend. They’ll attend classes together, eat lunch in the dining room, and their buddy is happy to answer questions and share more about their experience at Greenhills.
Applicants can register for a visit day after completing the Family Information Form and Student Interest and Activity Form.
Parent Statement
This is an opportunity to share more about your child and why you’re exploring Greenhills.
Virtual Interview
This virtual, asynchronous interview includes a mix of recorded video and written responses to get to know your child in their own words. It takes the pressure off of a one-on-one interview, where students often feel shy or nervous, while letting us get a sense of who they are and where they’re at.
School Records/Transcripts
Request school transcripts from the past two years by submitting a release form to your child’s current school.
Recommendation Forms

We ask that applicants provide two recommendations.

  • Lower School: Not required
  • Middle School: One academic and one personal.
  • Upper School: One from an English teacher and the other from a math or science teacher
Standardized Test Results
We accept results from the last two years. Acceptable assessments include ERB, SSAT, ISEE, PSAT, ACT, SAT, NWEA, MAP, or other school-administered standardized tests.

Visit us and see for yourself.

The best way to understand Greenhills is to experience it. Each visit is a chance to meet teachers, students, and discover how Greenhills might fit your family.
