Greenhills Names Jeewon Wright-Kim as First Head of Lower School

Following a competitive national search, Greenhills School has announced the appointment of Jeewon Wright-Kim as its first Head of Lower School. Wright-Kim will serve as the Head of Lower School at Summers-Knoll School during the 2025–2026 academic year and lead the campus’s transition to Greenhills’ lower school the following year.

Wright-Kim brings more than a decade of experience in early childhood and elementary education, including leadership roles at Daycroft School in Ann Arbor and Saint Ann’s School in Brooklyn. Known for his thoughtful, student-centered leadership, he has consistently guided school communities through programmatic growth and cultural transformation with creativity, warmth, and care.

“Jeewon brings just the right mix of vision, practical expertise, and heart to this work,” said Greenhills Head of School Peter B. Fayroian. “He’s an educator who understands how joyful and formative a great lower school experience should be, and who knows how to make it happen. As we launch a new chapter in Greenhills’ story, I can’t imagine a better leader to help us shape a lower school that reflects our highest aspirations.”

In his role as Elementary Director at Daycroft School, Wright-Kim oversaw faculty, curriculum, and student support for grades 1–6, and he led the development of a new urban middle school program. At Saint Ann’s School, he founded the Associate Teacher Program and led work on an equity framework for early grades. Throughout his career, he has brought together progressive pedagogy, instructional rigor, and a deep commitment to equity and belonging.

“I’ve long admired Greenhills’ spirit of intellectual playfulness and its commitment to cultivating lifelong learners,” said Wright-Kim. “To be part of the team that brings this vision to younger students—at a moment when the school is expanding its reach and impact—is a rare and exciting opportunity. I’m honored to help shape a lower school where students feel intimately known, joyfully challenged, and inspired to engage with the world around them.”

Wright-Kim will lead the development of the lower school’s curriculum, staffing, facilities improvements, and student experience. The 2025-26 school year will serve as a transitional year, during which Summers-Knoll will continue operations under Greenhills leadership. Beginning in fall 2026, the campus will officially become the lower school of Greenhills and serve students in grades pre-K through 5.
