Established by the Class of 2005, with initial gifts given in memory of Tim Pasich’s 34 Years of Service,the Visiting Scientist Endowment provides funds for faculty to bring in expert scientists to:

  • Present lectures, either for the public or internally for students and faculty;
  • As scientists-in-residence, teach a class or a section for a period of time during the academic year or during the summer;
  • Participate in special events that showcase student interaction with our visiting scientists; or
  • Conduct workshops or programs for the larger community.

“Mr. Pasich gave his students the greatest gift a teacher can give; a life-long interest in his subject.”

– David Rehmus, Class of 1980

Tim Pasich, one of Greenhills’ longest-serving faculty members, passed away in 2004. Mr. Pasich was innately curious about the world around him. Whether he was conducting science experiments in the hallways, teaching the first computer science classes, or helping with the Outing Club’s overnight trips to the wilderness, his love of learning never ended.
