French Students Practice Their Skills
Twelve students got a chance to practice their language skills and immerse themselves in French culture during this summer’s 10 day trip to France. Said Greenhills French teacher and chaperone Cat Novak, “I’ve been sincerely impressed with the determination of every single student to speak French with me and in different stores or places. It is most rewarding to see even the shyer kids trying to do their best.”
The group spent a few rainy days in Paris and the Basque region before moving on to the clearer skies of Provence and Côte d’Azur. Trip highlights included playing pétanque (a game that involves throwing hollow metal balls as close as possible to a small wooden ball) in a local club, visiting small villages and eating lots of ice cream.
Chaperone Marion Bonneaux ’11 said she had “never seen a group of kids get along so well and have such a great time exploring a new country together.”
