Tuition/Financial Aid

Tuition
The 2013-2014 school year tuition for middle school students is $20,100 and $20,500 for upper school students. There are three payment options for school tuition, including 10 monthly tuition payments on a schedule from June through March. Tuition payments are adjusted accordingly for students awarded financial aid.

Tuition for the 2013-2014 school year for middle school students will be $20,100 and $20,500 for rupper school students.

Annual costs for books and supplies, billed separately, usually range from $700 in the 6-8th grades up to $1,000 for 9-12th grades.  All books are ordered online through classbook.com (although books may be less expensive at Amazon or other vendors).

Financial Aid
Greenhills School wants to ensure that admitted students have access to the educational experience offered here without regard to an individual family's ability to pay full tuition.  We try to achieve this objective through our financial aid program. Financial aid packets will be mailed to all prospective families in December.

Application for Financial Aid -- THIS IS A NEW PROCESS:

FAST Parent User Guide.pdf

This year we will utilize the online service of Financial Aid for School Tuition (FAST) to process applications.  FAST will be the standard submission format for all applications.

FAST does not decide whether financial assistance will be given or how much to give; rather, FAST provides a need-based financial aid analysis service which includes a recommendation of what a family should reasonably contribute toward tuition.  All information from FAST is kept confidential.

*The application process is self-guided.  You may navigate in and out of the program allowing you to partially complete an application and go back to it at another time.  Online e-mail and a 24/7 helpline is provided.

*The charge for the application is $36.00 paid by credit card at the end of the session.  If you do not have a credit card or cannot budget the fee please contact Betsy Ellsworth (bellsworth@greenhillsschool.org or 734-205-4061) for assistance.

*After completing the online application you will be required to mail your 2012 tax returns for both state and federal taxes with all schedules and W-2’s to FAST.

*Including the School’s name on the outside of the envelope will ensure faster processing of your application.

*The online submission deadline for all applications is February 11, 2013

*Your tax return must follow the submission, and be postmarked by February 25, 2013

*Make your tax appointment early.

PLEASE NOTE:  If your 2012 taxes are not complete by February 2013, please provide your MOST RECENT tax returns.

Our goal is to have an award determination made by the time re-enrollment contracts are issued at then end of March.  While no financial aid procedure can be entirely equitable – there are simply too many individual factors and extenuating circumstances – this new process that has been selected should serve our community well.  Among its many features will be the ability to further secure your financial data and maintain the high degree of confidentiality that past recipients most appreciated.

A financial aid brochure detailing Greenhills philosophy and policies for distributing financial aid will be available by the end of November.  It will be posted here and mailed to all prospective families.

Enrollment Information
Signed enrollment packages are due at Greenhills two weeks after receipt of the admission and financial aid decision, along with a non-refundable enrollment deposit. If the financial aid award is mailed after the admission decision, families have two weeks from receipt of the financial aid award to send in the enrollment package and deposit.
