3 teams to compete in National Ocean Sciences Bowl

For the first time this year, Greenhills is sending three teams to the National Ocean Sciences Bowl’s regional competition, to be held at the University of Michigan Saturday.

The NOSB, a forum for talented students to test their knowledge of the marine sciences including biology, chemistry, physics, and geology, was created in 1998 in honor of the International Year of the Ocean. Since its inception, the competition has grown to include 25 regional locations across the U.S.

Greenhills won regionals and took sixth place nationally last year.

The regional competition, which includes Michigan and parts of Ohio and Indiana, will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1 in the Dana Building of the School of Natural Resources and Environment, on the University of Michigan’s Central Campus.

The event is open to the public, so please stop by! Round robins beginning at 9 a.m. Single-elimination rounds start at 1 p.m., the final round starts at 4:30, and awards will be presented at 5:15.
