7th grader wins National Geographic geography bee

7th grader wins National Geographic geography bee“The town of Bozeman, known for its ranchers, artists and trout fishing, is located north of Yellowstone National Park in what state?”

“Montana” was the winning answer given by seventh grader Harry Bagenstos (right) earlier today to win the National Geographic geography bee. Sixth grader Luciana Rosania (far left) was runner-up, and finalists were seventh graders Josh Joyce (second from left) and Adam Buchmueller (second from right).

The next step for Bagenstos is a written exam to see if he qualifies for the state bee in April.

This year marks the 25th year for the National Geographic Bee, an event in which thousands of schools participate for the ultimate prize of a $25,000 college scholarship.
