Members of the Greenhills Chess Club got together with their counterparts from Huron High School before the break to settle chess bragging rights for northeast Ann Arbor.

The meeting was one way for the chess club, led by science faculty member Jim Lupton, to gain experience before the upcoming state chess championship tournament, scheduled for March 1 in Rochester.

The competition against a very strong Huron team was tough, Lupton said. The final score was 7-4, with Huron coming out ahead.

Winning their boards for Greenhills were Brendan Kelley-Bucovac ’14, Jack Harris ’18, Nabeel Rehemtulla ’17, and Hasan Iqbal ’17.
