Forensics finishes strong with 8th straight championship

Greenhills’ Upper School forensics team brought home its eighth straight state championship this weekend, while middle schoolers performed well at the end of their season, as well.

The Upper School tournament, held at Oakland University this weekend, ended with event champs including Siani Woods and Sabrina Wu in Duo and Sarah Ceccio, Anirudh Hirve, Luena Maillard, Amar Nigam, Vivian Pearsall, Ryan Perry, and Alaina Riker in Multiple. Overall, the team fielded 36 qualifiers, 24 finalists, and seven semifinalists at the two-day tournament. Complete Greenhills results are available here.

Middle schoolers also did well at the Michigan Interscholastic Forensics Association tournament April 25 at Wayne State University. Check full results here.

For the Upper School competitors, an earlier tournament at Walled Lake — the final invitational of the season — also brought a strong showing.  And a novice state tournament at Novi, which is restricted to only those who are competing for the first time at the high school level, also highlighted Greenhills talent. Congratulations to all who participated!
