Student Leadership Forum sets table for productive year
The second annual Student Leadership Forum Aug, 19 brought together 60 students drawn from the middle and upper schools. They represented athletic teams, clubs and organizations, as well as student government.
Participants had the opportunity to gauge their own values, temperaments and leadership skills and to think about how they might leverage that information to produce a productive and satisfying 2014-15 school year.
Two speakers supplemented the work of faculty members Bridget Maldonado, Meg Seng, and Bruce Zellers: Joy Beatty (’85), a Professor of Organizational Behavior at UM Dearborn, and Douglas Finton, Senior Master Trainer with the national consulting firm VitalSmarts. Head of School Carl Pelofsky closed the day with a lively discussion on leadership styles and contexts.
