Commencement 2017 sends seniors into the future

Bound together by their common experiences, Sunday’s commencement ceremony launched the Class of 2017 into their diverse futures.

The sun broke through early cloud cover to light up the ceremony, which featured important advice — leavened with humor — from Head of School Carl Pelofsky. Class President Nina Joss addressed her classmates, as well, reminding them that, while they were sometimes known to be intense, they also were known for their irrepressible sense of fun, and for caring deeply about one another.

Longtime Greenhills college counseling head Dick Tobin, who retired as of the end of this school year, was selected by the seniors to address the class. In keeping with the classic advice given to commencement speakers — that the talk is about the graduates, not the speaker — Tobin rounded out the ceremony by sharing telling tidbits — anonymous, of course — about each individual member of the class.

Congratulations, Class of 2017! We look forward to hearing great things about your exploits in the future!
