Middle Schoolers Learn and Vote

The votes are in!  Today’s middle school mock election produced the following results:

65.8% voted for Barack Obama
20.1% voted for Mitt Romney
13% voted for Jill Stein

Says 6th grade social studies teacher and election organizer Amanda Harper, “Middle school students got a chance to experience an important part of the democratic process.  They learned about the candidates and the electoral process in classes, registered to vote and then voted during lunch today.  The kids had a great time and learned a lot.”
